Beans and cocunut curry




Ingredients:
Beans 1 pound or 1/2 kg
Cocunut  powder 5 teaspoons
Chana dal 1 teaspoon
Urad dal 1 teaspoon
Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
Jeera 1/2 teaspoon
Red chillies 2
Hing or Inguva 2 pinches
Tumeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
Oil 4 teaspoons
Curry leaves 6 to 7
Chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon (adjust according to your taste)
Salt as needed


Preparation:
1. Wash beans and cut them into small pieces. Cook beans for 10 minutes in water and drain the water.


2. Heat a non stick pan or kadia after it is heated and add oil. Turn to low flame add one teaspoon of chana dal,one teaspoon urad dal, one teaspoons mustard seeds, half teaspoon jeera seeds, 2 pinches hing or inguva and 3 red chillies cut into pieces.





3.  After the dal slightly change color add cocunut powder or shredded cocunut to it.





4. Add the boiled bean cooked curry and mix well. Add turmeric powder and salt . 


 




5. Cook for about 15 minutes in medium low flame. Add red chilli powder.
 
 
 
    Serve with hot rice.
